Lebo Athletes Win Big: Basketball, Swimming, Wrestling and Unified Bocce

Congratulations to Mt. Lebanon High School athletes for a run of championship performances this past weekend. We wish the best of luck to those moving on in the PIAA tournament. Here is a quick rundown of our Lebo successes.

Boys' Basketball WPIAL 6A Champions

Mt. Lebanon Boys's Basketball captured the WPIAL Class 6A Championship on Saturday night March 2 at the University of Pittsburgh Peterson Events Center. The Blue Devils topped Butler 62-57 in an exciting game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. This is Lebo's first championship since 2009 and Coach Joe David's third in his 18 year tenure as the team's head coach. It was truly a team effort.

Girls' Swimming WPIAL Individual Champions

Congratulation to the girls' swim team members who won individual gold at the WPIAL Championship over the weekend. Trinity Ward won her 4th career WPIAL gold medal in the 100 yd Butterfly. Maddie Dorish, Elizabeth McDyer, Meredith Reese, & Sophia Donati won gold in the 200 Free Relay and Maddie Dorish, Elizabeth McDyer, Trinity Ward, & Hannah Morelli won gold in the 200 Medley Relay.

Congratulations to Luke Stout on his WPIAL Gold medal win in 182 lb weight class and to Nate Hoaglund for his silver medal win the 285 lb weight class.

Unified Bocce

Congratulations to our two high school Unified Bocce teams for winning silver medals at the county tournament. Each team won their first two matches. This is the first time the team has medaled. Got Lebo!
