A Message from Our Principal

Howe Elementary School celebrates the wisdom of flying geese by choosing this bird as our mascot. Geese fly together in a "V" formation because they add at least a 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back into formation, and another goose flies in the point position. Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. When a goose gets sick or wounded, two geese fall out of formation and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or he dies, and then they join another group or catch up with their own team.

There are many lessons we learn from the geese. We know that the students, staff, and parents of Howe School can accomplish great things for kids by working together! Our goal is always student growth and success. Like the geese, we help and encourage one another and value the contributions of each individual.

It is my honor and privilege to serve Howe Elementary School as principal. Your feedback and questions are always welcome, and you can contact me directly via email or telephone.
