The evening of February 7, 2019, was one filled with excitement and drama during the finals of the 2019 Lincoln PTA Spelling bee. 18 students from Grades 4-5 qualified to show off their spelling skills and our participants did not disappoint! Only one student could prevail, and after going seventeen (17) grueling rounds, the winner of the 2019 Lincoln PTA Spelling Bee was Mathieu Williams. The first runner-up was Santiago Lozada Evosevic. Congratulations to all of the spelling bee participants. They did a great job! A special thanks goes out to our three teacher judges - Ms. Davies, Ms. Kennedy and Mrs. Rivera. They kept us on track and made sure that every participant had a fair chance to spell each word. We also need to thank the Lincoln PTA and Mrs. Murphy (PTA Spelling Bee Committee Chair) for sponsoring this wonderful event. Good luck to Mathieu as he now moves on to the next local Spelling Bee at Robert Morris University on March 9th!
